Review: The Girl in 6E

The Girl in 6E The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Not sure how I didn’t realize this book was going to end up being an Erotica For Beginners: Cam Girl Edition (maybe the fact that I did little to no research before reading because I’m both lazy and easily influenced by average ratings on GoodReads is to be blamed), but it makes sense given the author almost exclusively writes romance novels. But, hey, end of the day, who doesn’t love a few chapters dedicated to exploring anal fetishes, the wide world of dildos and humiliation porn? Don’t be a prude.

I can appreciate that the author took a hard (no pun intended ..?) left and transformed our lovely little erotica novel into a bad ass bitch seeks vengeance tale, but something just didn’t feel believable about the second half of the book. Mainly the fact that Jessica / Deanna all of a sudden decided she no longer needed to be kept under lock and key, literally, away from humanity because of her uncontrollable urges to hardcore murder anyone within wingspan, because she discovered her true calling in life was to save little girls from chat room perverts. Overly sexualized Cam girl - 1, online pedophiles - 0.

And let’s not even mention the Jeremy character....just kidding! Of course I want to discuss this ridiculous sad sack of a man. If there were ever a casting call looking for a “dumb-as-rocks-thinks -only-with-his-penis” male character - Jeremy is it with flying colors. Okay, I get it - Deanna / Jessica is a smoke show - we are given detailed descriptions of her smoking hot body on so many occasions that I was willing to shell out $6.99 a minute to chat with her, too. However, you’re telling me this chick tries to kill you with your own box cutters upon first meeting, before any words are exchanged, and you’re instantly a love struck puppy willing to cave to any and all of her demands? I mean, sure, she WAS naked while attempting said box cutter massacre...and she IS just so damn sexy... and all of those professional grade set lights were probably hitting her at just the right angles.... alright, Jeremy, you get a pass on this one.
