You (You, #1)You by Caroline Kepnes

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this book. I love it so much that whenever I read yet another book that sucks and I start to wonder if it's just me being too critical and harsh, I remember how much I love "You" and how friggin fantastic everything about it is, and I realize that, yep, some novels really are crap.

I read "You" almost two years ago and I just now am writing this review because lately I have felt underwhelmed when I finish a book, and I find myself contemplating simply rereading this gem to remind myself that entertaining and fresh stories are out there. I won't bother going into details on the content of this narrative, but I acknowledge it's not for everyone. For instance, I would never recommend this one to my mom. There's way too much masturbation talk in the first chapter alone for that. Joe is the most creepy, completely psychotic and perverted stalker that I think I might be oddly attracted to. I've never cheered for the "bad" guy more than I do for him. That probably says something about me, but I'm totally okay with it.
